Dear Families: Please use this page to guide you in helping your child continue to learn at home.
Hello everyone,
Well, this is our last official week of school! If you have completed all your online learning in Schoology or via packets, then you are all set this week! If you need time to catch up, please have work completed by Thursday afternoon. Don't forget to submit your work digitally or take a picture and email me your completed work.
Please check Powerschool to make sure everything is correct. I updated it this weekend and will continue to do so throughout this week.
Other Reminders: Don't forget about the Awards Ceremony this week via Zoom. Please check your email about date and times which were previously sent out.
I would like to have one last Teams meeting on Wednesday to end the year. Look for an invite on your calendar, which I will send out on Wednesday.
Have a great week!

For the week of April 20th - 24th
Hello!
Welcome to week 1 of our distance learning. I hope you find this program easy to follow and manageable for your time. Here is what I would like you to do. Login to Schoology. It is the same login as the school laptops and email. https://www.richmond.schoology.com/login?&school=
Log in to Schoology
Schoology allows instructors, students and administrators to create a meaningful virtual classroom and extend learning beyond the boundaries of the physical classroom
www.richmond.schoology.com
Click on the help folder for help regarding discussion posts or submitting assignments. Click on the folder for April 20th to begin working.
1. Read Lesson 5-7 about culture diffusion and culture change.
2. complete the practice questions for lesson 5-7 and submit
3. respond to the classroom discussion board. Pick one questions to answer and then respond to another student's post.
You can choose to complete it all in one day or over the course of the week. Please have the work submitted by noon on Friday. If you need help, please let me know by email.
Your Schoology lessons will contain readings, videos, and two assignments each week. The readings will be shorter summarized versions than what we used before. There will be two assignments each week:
- Assignment 1 will be some type of comprehension review. It will be shorter than the RECAPS we did before. It may be created in Schoology, or it may be a link to a Forms or Quizlet or Quizizz
- Assignment 2 will be a discussion board
I will record all assignments on Friday in Power School. They will be recorded as Completed, Incomplete, or Missing. Anything received after Friday will also be recorded as Late, but all work will be accepted until June 5.
I am trying to keep the workload reasonable and manageable for you during this time. But if there is ever a topic you would like to know more about, please ask. I will be happy to provide you more sources.
Contacting Me:
- Office Hours: I will be sending a meeting request to all students for the Teams Meeting Office Hours. Accept the invitation. You are not required to attend, but you should accept the invite. Then you can go to your Outlook Calendar and click on the event if you ever want to join the meeting. I look forward to seeing you there. This is a video chat meeting. And there is an APP for phones and tablets.
- E-Mail:you can e-mail me whenever you want. However, I will only guarantee to check my email twice per day M-F, once in mid-morning and once in the evening. So you may not get a response until the next day.
- Schoology: same as e-mail. I will definitely be on twice a day. You can message me directly there also.
- Please keep in mind I am also teaching/guiding my three children who are in preschool, third grade and fifth grade!
This is new for all of us so please be patient! Thanks! :)
